The Hostel

Story Behind Our Boutique Hostel

The building that once was a Berlitz school where the famous writer James Joyce taught English now is reopened as a fully renovated Boutique Hostel. Offering a location right next to the Arch of the Sergii monument, Boutique Hostel Joyce is set in the heart of Pula.

All the rooms are air-conditioned, modernly decorated and furnished in bright colours. Each comes with free-of-charge towels and linen, as well as a flat-screen TV. A private bathroom with a shower is available. Free WiFi access is offered in all areas.

There is a 24-hour front desk at the guests' disposal and a maid service is offered as well.

The nearest bars, restaurants and shops can be found in a radius of 100 m. The Roman Temple of Augustus is 500 m from the hostel and the amphitheatre Pula Arena is 650 m away.

The distance to Rovinj is 34 km. Offering a boat transportation to the Brijuni National Park, the city of Fažana is 9 km from the property.

Pula Airport is 8 km from Joyce Boutique Hostel.
This is our guests' favourite part of Pula, according to independent reviews.

Testimonials

May All Who Come As Guests Leave As Friends

"Great location in city center! Polite and helpful staff, they organized cabs for us at both arrival and departure. Clean and fresh!" - Ellen, June 2016.

"Good choice, very central and new. Everything was modern and clean." - Flavio, October 2015.

"The experience at Hostel Joyce was beautiful and above expectation. The building is located in a perfect place right at the beginning of the town centre. The hostel has been recently renewed, and you can tell! The bathroom was very nice and the room had A/C and everything was new. Although our room was in front of a busy square, the double-glass windows sealed the noise out. The reception was friendly and professional." - Riccardo, August 2015.

"We were looking for a nice place to stay and were satisfied with the location and the services the Boutique Hostel provided. A specisl thanks goes to the very friendly staff :-)" - Patri, Jule 2015.

Pula & Istria

Discover Hidden Istrian Gems

Istria is indeed a feast for the eyes. Its streams flow to the sea through deep valleys and gullies which bring to mind the ancient local myths about giants. Rolling hills overlook the fields and valleys with little towns perched on the peaks, recalling some old paintings. The view is splendid: white-topped mountains, lush wheat fields, plateaux, valleys, vineyards and olive groves on hillsides, and, finally the sea.

As you get to know Istria you will notice more and more enchanting details: church facades and portals, tiny village alleyways with their specific architectural touches, the babble of a stream, the blossoming cherries.

Everything is warm–hearted and friendly here: nature, towns and people.
